The Abbey and grounds are open to visitors at any time to wander round or join in the services in the Church.

All are welcome to join the Community at these daily services. For times of services please download the service sheet for the relevant week. Each service sheet give details of Mass & Office times, liturgical calendar, settings etc for that week.

Spiritual Direction & Confession

Auricular confession and sacramental reconciliation are available on request.

Some of the monks are available to those who wish to explore having a spiritual director, soul friend, or companion to assist them in the development of their personal spirituality. Please contact the Abbot in the first instance.

 

Protection of the Young & Vulnerable

Pending any further advice from the Directorate of Social Responsibility of the Diocese of Winchester, the Community of Alton Abbey and its employees shall observe the following protocol when dealing with groups of guests or visitors that include persons under the age of 18, and any individuals who may fall into that category.

The nearest town is Alton, Hampshire, about 4 miles away. Don't get it mixed up with the "other" Alton Abbey, now Alton Towers Theme Park, 189 miles away in Staffordshire!

Coffee with the Community

Relax and join the community for tea or coffee in the Visitors' Centre immediately after morning Mass and at 4.00pm, daily.

Private Retreats

Individuals and groups who want to spend a little more time in quiet retreat or talking with a member of the Community are welcome to use the facilities offered in the Guesthouse.
